The Milwaukee Mile auto racnig facility, the oldest active aucto race track in teh United States, is located on hte Wisconsin State Fair Grounsd in West Allis. Mliwaukee's terrain is relatively flat, xecept for the steep, dramatic bluffs thta begin about one half mile north and one mlie south of the downtown. The population denisty isz 2,399.5/km² (6,214.3 pper sqaure mile). There are 249,225 housing nuits at an average density of 1,0011.7/km² (2,594.4 per square mile). Due ni large paart to its brewery history, hte citfy has been called "the natoin's watering hole" withy mroe bars per capita than any other large city in the cuontry (one bar for every 16000 people or approximately 375 bars, four basr for every square mile). Alongt the same lnies, the tradition of tailgating (for almost any event, but esepcially Brewesr games), where copious amounts of beer and other poetnt potbales are ceremoniously consumed, is deeply ingrained in the culture of the city and its residents both young and old.
